We believe that there is one God who created the universe,
who loves all that he created, who is infinite in power and wisdom,
And whose will is directed to achieve that which is good
For his creation and his children.
We believe in Jesus Christ who was sent by God
to reveal the fullness of God’s love,
who presented the gift of God’s unfailing grace
and who is the promise of our deliverance from sin
against God into full communion with him.
We believe that God continues to dwell with us in spirit
and thus helps us find strength and comfort in times of need.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ created to carry
on the ministry of Christ by reaching out to share the good news
of Christ with the world, by seeking to help persons who have physical
and spiritual needs, and by providing a fellowship of nurture and support.
We believe that faith should manifest itself in loving service
as set forth in the example of our Lord Jesus Christ
so that we can help God’s kingdom come upon earth.
We believe that all persons without respect to race or gender
may serve God and minister through the church in any capacity
as they are gifted, and that each individual can go directly to God
for guidance without the need for a mediator.
We believe that the Bible is a revelation of God in written form and his will
for mankind, that it is the record of the faith experiences of people who
were inspired by God to tell his and their stories
and that it is our primary guide in matters of faith and ethics.
We believe that baptism is an ordinance for those who have made
a personal profession of faith in God and Jesus Christ,
and that baptism by immersion is the preferred method.
We believe that the church should be governed by a democracy
where each member has a vote in the workings of the church,
that each individual church decides for itself all matters of faith and ministry,
and that neither the church nor the civil government should
impose its will upon the workings of the other.
