Hello, Dear Church!

I hope this letter finds you all well (and hydrated)! I have had a very good week, and I hope the same for all of you.

The big news of the week is Vacation Bible School. It begins Monday, July 13th at 9 a.m. and will run through the week. I’m looking forward to the church buzzing with energy and hope some of you will stop by. If you have any questions about VBS or how to get involved, make sure you get in touch with Maxine at maxineeibc@gmail.com.

I am very much looking forward to my ordination service. It is scheduled for July 19th (not this Sunday, but next) at 4 p.m. with a reception to follow. It will be a very sacred and special moment for me, and members of Emerald Isle Baptist Church will vote whether to ordain me following a recommendation from the Ordination Council. I hope to see all of you there, and I appreciate your continued support as I seek to become an official “reverend.”

Following VBS, we will begin our weekly Bible study with the first meeting on July 22nd at 11 a.m. For now, we will just dive deeper into the topic from the previous Sunday. Once I have a better idea of numbers and interest, we may begin some thematic series (with eschatology first up). The format will be discussion-based, and I am looking forward to hearing some of your stories and perspectives.

We have another event on the books for July 26th–a potluck lunch after worship. If you are willing to bring a side or dessert, please let Elaine Reddick know.

There is no shortage of opportunities and plenty to add to the calendar. I know many of you are resting or traveling, so do not worry if you cannot attend any or all of the events; there will be more. If you are able, please join us!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week, and I look forward to seeing you all Sunday as we worship and learn about God’s “hesed” or “loving kindness springing from covenant relationship with Him.” Holler if you need me!

With love,

Pastor Zach
