Hello, Dear Church!
I hope you are all enjoying the summer despite the heat and humidity! I finally joined the church golf group yesterday, and that might make me a “preacher” more than my upcoming ordination. Independence Day is right around the corner, and we also celebrate 250 years of The United States of America. Enjoy the festivities with the people you love, and celebrate both your earthly and spiritual freedoms (in moderation, of course)! Make sure you take a look at the weekly devotional for a word about “freedom.”
Just to put a few things on your radar:
- We are in the process of integrating technology into the church. This includes work on the live stream, updating the church website, and even developing a church app where you can find everything related to Emerald Isle Baptist Church in one place. For those of you who are not well-versed in technology, do not worry. We will still offer paper communications for all who desire it. If you have any feedback or suggestions concerning this, please let me know.
- The weekly Bible study will begin after Vacation Bible School. The results of the poll showed that Wednesdays at 11 a.m. are preferred. There was a wide range of topics of interest, but apocalyptic literature (Daniel / Revelation) and eschatology (the study of the “end times”) dominated the poll results. I hope you will consider joining us for a time of spiritual development and discipleship!
- We are planning a few events for the coming months including food! Be on the lookout for some upcoming church events that will foster fellowship and community. Vacation Bible School is the major event to look forward to, so be sure to invite any youth that you think would be interested.
Please reach out with any needs or concerns; I am always available to you, and I love you very much. Have a great week and enjoy the vacation time!
With love,
Pastor Zach
