Hello, Church Family!

I hope you all have had a good week thus far! This is the first “Letter from the Pastor” that will be sent out on Wednesdays each week, so keep an eye out for it. 

As a brief life update, Camila, Emma, and I are getting settled in and things are beginning to calm down at home. I finally got to swim in the ocean and unintentionally made my first offering to the sea–my wedding ring! But as the French say, c’est la vie (such is life). I haven’t just been laying out on the beach, though; I am already hard at work managing church business and doing a little planning for the future. My office is finally set up, so I hope some of you will stop by and chat for a minute if you have the time.

For now, I would like to put a few things on your radar.

  • We will resume a weekly Bible and/or book study. I am going to create a poll to send out to you all so that I can gauge interest. For those who are not as familiar with technology, do not worry. It will be very easy to access and complete. I will ask for your preferred dates and times, themes and topics, etc. so that we might kick that meeting off very soon.
  • I will send out a weekly devotional. The purpose will be to offer some spiritual “food” during the week and also give a glimpse into our theme for the next worship service. This Sunday will be “Christ as the Cornerstone,” and you will find Devotional #1 attached to this email (accessible as both a Google .doc and attached .pdf file). If you have trouble accessing it, let me or Dorla know.
  • I am here for you. I know that you all are being so kind as to let me get settled in, but I am “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed” and ready to go. Put me to work! If you need anything at all, do not hesitate to reach out. I am available for theological discussion, pastoral care, visitation, or even just moving some heavy boxes from the garage. I sincerely mean it; let me know how I might serve you.

I am so excited to finally be here, and I look forward to seeing you all soon! May God bless you and Christ’s love surround and fill you throughout the rest of the week.
